Richard Jones
Richard is an award-winning film composer, guitarist, and music producer, working from his home studio in South London.
He's been mentored by industry professionals including Sam Watts (BBC, Netflix) and Norman Ludwin (Disney, Marvel), alongside Emmy-winning and nominated composers, mix engineers, and orchestrators, with studio experience at British Grove Studios in London and Smecky Music Studios in Prague.
His work spans original scores for film and games, session guitar for feature films, and production and mixing, and he brings that same real-world, working-professional experience into his teaching, offering private lessons in guitar, composition, and mixing/music production.
In 2026, Richard completed six months volunteering with Hamoaze House, a charity supporting people working through drug and alcohol recovery, where he ran a recreational music group, an experience he found both inspiring and deeply rewarding.
Outside the Studio
Welcome to a glimpse of what I get up to outside the studio. Like most people, I enjoy spending time with friends, but I also pursue a wide range of activities. I've trained Brazilian jiu-jitsu for six years, and used to own my own gym, training internationally, most memorably with BJJ legend Masakazu Imanari in Tokyo, Japan. Alongside BJJ, I'm a keen spearfisherman, qualified scuba diver, cook, caver, and mountaineer.
